Into the West Blogger Network joined Goldenegg Productions and Athlone's leading retailers as they hosted free pop-up fashion shows throughout the day. Retailers featured the work of local designers in their shows with dazzling window displays as everyone enjoyed a truly unique fashion experience.
Twenty Five ITWBN bloggers were invited to this event as VIP guests for the day to experience the very best that Athlone has to offer and were treated to a host of surprises and goodies throughout the day!
This event was as social as it was eye catching with guests being teated to morning coffees as the day began with a Bloggers Breakfast at 9.30 am in the Colm Quinn BMW Showroom, Athlone with each blogger receiving a fabulous goodie bag. The Bloggers were then chauffeur driven into Athlone town where the Fashion Trail kicked off at 11 am.
On arrival into town, the first of the shows started. From boutique to boutique the bloggers visited. On arrival to each location was some new surprise! From Canapes, and Prosecco to sweet treats and giveaways; each boutique put on a truly memorable show and treated their guests like royalty! There were photo ops before and after every show as well as time to browse the stores, talk to the designers and retailers and do some real time blogging too! Twitter was LIT!
Half way through the busy day, as we neared our next two shows at the Athlone Town Centre; the Fatted Calf of Church Street refuelled the ITWBN Bloggers with some delicious lunch time bites and refreshments.
After show number eight came to a close, we finished the day off in style at the Radisson Blu Hotel who hosted the wrap party to celebrate the success of the inaugural Athlone Fashion Trail.
Once again, the power of bloggers prevailed as the event's hashtag started trending early that morning!
By 3pm that day, the event's hashtag had reached the no. 1 one spot on the twitter trendsmap!
This ment the hashtag had out-trended the #DubVsMayo tag!! That really is a testament to the power of bloggers & social media!
