Into The West Blogger Network at GMIT

In March 2015, Into The West Blogger Network were invited to speak at the GMIT Blogging and Personal Branding Workshop. The event was set up by the lovely Events Management and PR Students studying at the college. Two of our bloggers were there also, Michaela from Life of a Lady Bear and Anna from Anna MUA.

Before the presentations, we were treated to an amazing lunch at the Connemara Restaurant which is part of the culinary school. A beautiful four course lunch complete with silver service too!

Lamb skewers, homemade pizza, paella and ravioli were served up as a starter after a delicious amuse bouche. The main course followed which was an option of pork loin or sea bass with spinach and almonds. YUM! For dessert we were then given the option of two dishes – a white chocolate mouse with mint jelly or a full irish breakfast. Yes, a full irish for dessert made up of doughnuts, chocolate brownie, sorbet and more!

We didn’t expect such a wonderful lunch but we were delighted to be treated to it. It gave us time to meet and chat with our lovely hosts from the Events Management and PR team about blogging, blog life, events, PR and more. The course they are doing sounds wonderful and they really are getting great hands on experience!

At 1pm we went to the event room to deliver our presentation, we outlined our basic 7 steps to successful blogging.  We enjoyed chatting about Into The West Blogger Network and met some students who are starting blogs too! Two of our bloggers were there too, Michaela from Life of a Lady Bear and Anna from Anna MUA. Both girls gave very impressive talks about their blogging journeys and gave some great insight into what blogging means to them.

We had a great day at GMIT. This was our second talk as we had previously spoken to students at the NUIG also. We really enjoy spreading the word about Into The West Blogger Network and the Irish Blogging Scene!

We have more talks and workshops lined up for the next few months too which is really exciting. For more information on Into The West Blogger Network email us on
